Job Title: Associate Superintendent of Education

Description: The Alberta Conference is seeking to employ a full time Associate Superintendent of Education. As part of a collaborative team, the Associate Superintendent will work alongside the Superintendent to fully implement any Conference initiative and to support Alberta Education requirements as necessary. It is expected that the Associate Superintendent will spend a significant amount of time working with staff in schools in developing lessons plans, classroom pedagogy, best teaching practices, curriculum instruction and training, as needed. The Associate Superintendent will perform other tasks as may from time to time be assigned by the Superintendent.

The successful candidate will possess:
• Personal attributes that demonstrate the ability to serve in a dynamic, engaged and collaborative environment supporting the vision
of Adventist Education in Alberta
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of teaching pedagogy, structures and systems that support inclusive learning and community development
• Have a working knowledge of Pathways and Encounter series
• Be willing to serve and collaborate with select government groups;
• A Master’s degree with a major in an educational discipline will be advantageous
• Must be eligible for or already have a Permanent Teaching Certificate in Alberta
• Must have or be eligible for SDA Certification
• Able to demonstrate life-long learning
• Must be willing and able to travel
• Knowledge in the development and support of the Seventh-day Adventist culture in schools
• Be a practicing, active member of the Seventh-day Adventist church community
