Description: This is a call to any professional Elementary Teacher who is looking for the opportunity to educate young minds within a Seventh-day Adventist Christian framework. Sandy Lake Academy is situated on 50 acres of lakefront property in the Halifax Regional Municipality, with historic Peggy’s cove and the lush Annapolis valley both under an hour’s drive away. This full-time position will primarily cover Grades 1-3 multi-grade classroom teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence in teaching content and completing formative and summative assessments in accordance with the Nova Scotia Provincial and NAD denominational curriculum. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Direct the non-academic student services including:
CueQuest (New Student Orientation)

Ensure social/spiritual/service activities are organized, advertised and implemented as printed in the Calendar of Events when needed.
Student Clubs and Organizations

Ensure that club sponsors, as approved by the VP Student Services, are actively in place at the beginning of each year; obtain a renewal form from each club to streamline club goals and objectives during personnel changes; work with club officers as needed to develop budgets, constitutions, programming, and activities, and to secure a sponsor.
Handle student behavior expectations through assisting in policy design and implementation, judicial procedures and follow-through of discipline committee expectations.
