Located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Red River Valley Junior Academy is the largest school in the Manitoba-Saskatchewan Conference. Nearly 100 years old, RRVJA is a K-12 school that is provincially funded, supported by 8 constituency churches, and boasts of supportive working conditions.

The Position:
Red River Valley Junior Academy (RRVJA) is sourcing for a full time Middle to High School Teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. Candidates need the energy, dedication and understanding to teach Middle to High School students and inspire them to choose Christ as their Savior and Lord. Candidates should be able to teach a combination of Music/Band, Fine Arts and Physical Education/Health and have proficiency with technology, experience with working with people from a wide range of ethnic diversities, and the flexibility and collaboration skills needed as a team player - willing to support and assist faculty and administration alike.

The Ideal Candidate Skills and Specific Responsibilities will include:
• An active member of the SDA Church, modeling Christianity, upholding the faith and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church that demonstrates a strong conviction & practice to the SDA faith
• Has a teaching philosophy that is in keeping with the philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist Education
• A Canadian Citizen or has documented proof to immediately be able to work legally in a school in Canada for a minimum of 3 years
• Will have or qualify for a Seventh-day Adventist Teacher Certification
• Currently holds a Manitoba Provincial Teaching Certificate or is eligible to receive one
• Experience teaching Middle to High School students and can bring delivery in Fine Arts, Music/Band and & Physical Education/Health
• Is proficient in using typical classroom technology and software (including small office applications)
• Works well with colleagues and administration
• Has strong people and communication skills, particularly with a wide range of ethnicity and settings

Description: Due to the present teacher’s upcoming retirement, Rosthern Christian School (RCS) is urgently looking for an energetic full time teacher/principal to begin in the 2021-2022 school year. The school presently has 14 students in grades 1-9 along with a full time Educational Assistant and is projected to have 12-16 students for the next year. The eligible candidate needs energy, dedication and understanding in teaching a variety of subjects, having proficiency with technology, experience working with students from a wide range of ethnic diversities, and inspire them to choose Christ as their Savior and Lord. As the Principal, the candidate needs to have vision, organization, creativity, willingness to support and assist in the growth of this school. The candidate has a proven track record of working with school board, conference director, and has strong people skills that enables them to interact and communicate effectively with parents and students at all levels. RCS is provincially funded and has supportive working conditions.

RCS is located in Rosthern, Saskatchewan, a community with a small-town environment with all the necessary amenities of city living. Rosthern offers great recreational and cultural opportunities within the community and is centrally located between the cities of Saskatoon & Prince Albert. The Rosthern SDA church has 50+ members that support the school and is active in the community.

Qualifications for Employment:
- An active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, modeling Christianity and upholding the faith and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
- A current favourable criminal police check & vulnerable sector check
- Has a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a minimum of three to five years of experience as a Teaching Principal
- Has current SDA Denominational Certification and/or qualifies in obtaining one.
- A Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate and/or qualifies in obtaining one.
- Documented ability to work legally in a school in Canada - A Citizen, Permanent Resident or Current Work Permit valid for 2 or more years
- Models excellence through innovative teaching (STEM, STEAM, Research-Based, etc.)
- Exemplifies Adventist Education through example
- Well organized, works collaboratively with students, faculty, administration, school board, and conference.
- Communicates effectively with strong people skills enabling the candidate to interact within diverse ethnic groups
- Is an independent thinker with a strong desire for teaching and a love for students.
- Is committed to providing a high expectations academic program but will still meet the individual learning needs of students.
