Description: The Ontario Conference Office of Education is looking for substitute teachers for each of our schools in Caledon, London, Mount Hope, Oshawa, Ottawa, Pickering, Toronto and Windsor.

Successful candidates for the above position will have:

Job Title: Superintendent of Education

Description: The Ontario Conference is seeking a Superintendent/Director of Education to lead the Department of Education. The superintendent is responsible for the administrative and supervisory functions of the K-12 Educational program for all constituent schools.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direction, monitor and guide constituent schools in their development and improvement plans.
• Supervise and evaluate principals.
• Manage all aspects of school organization.
• Administer evaluation procedures for all schools.
• Recruit teachers, administrators, and other school personnel in cooperation with school boards and principals.

Qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Education. An earned Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Education is preferable, with supporting courses in the fields of curriculum, supervision, and school administration.
• Additional qualifications in special education would be helpful.
• Must have a successful teaching experience in elementary/secondary schools.
• Have a Professional Denominational Credential with endorsement in elementary and secondary education, and an Ontario College of Teachers teaching certificate.

Description: Crawford Adventist Academy (Main Campus) is seeking a dynamic, creative Christ-like individual to work as a Junior Kindergarten Teaching Assistant for the 2020-2021 school year. This individual must provide care and guidance to Junior Kindergarten children under the guidance of the Junior Kindergarten teacher. This individual must love working with children and engage them in activities to stimulate and develop their spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional growth. QUALIFICATIONS:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the implementation of daily program/activities of the Lead Teacher.
• Assist in recess and classroom supervision in the absence of the Lead Teacher.
• Assist in preparing a suitable learning environment for children, supplying them with necessary materials, stationery, etc. and setting up.
• Attend a Kindergarten Teacher conference at least once per year.
• Help children in developing good habits including that of personal hygiene.
• Help maintain a neat and clean classroom.
• Must be capable of lifting a weight of up to 40 pounds, climb stairs and be able to bend and stretch.
• Review material taught by the teacher and tutor individual children or groups.
• Reinforce the concepts taught by the teacher and provide students with additional opportunities to learn and master the material.
• Responsible for teaching at least one lesson per day.
• A firm commitment as a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
• The ability to work effectively with staff.
• A thorough knowledge of their discipline(s).
